INSIA was established in response to an identified need for a network supporting evidence-based decision-making in social welfare.
Within INSIA there are currently three active collaborative projects: Health Economics (methodological development for economic analyses of social interventions), Mixed Methods (combined quantitative and qualitative approaches) and AI support (developing tools to support the production of systematic reviews). Members can initiate their own projects within the network.
Membership and members
The members are organizations that evaluate interventions in social care and social welfare, are non-profit and publicly funded, and have a direct connection to regional or national authorities.
INSIA currently consists of seven active members, including SBU. The members are the French National Authority for Health (HAS), Health Technology Wales (HTW), National Institute of Excellence in Health and Social Services (INESSS), National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), Norwegian Institute of Public Health (NIPH), and The Danish Center for Social Science Research (VIVE). Five of these have board representation, and the full board can be found here: Board of directors – International network for social intervention assessment.
Being part of INSIA means more than access to shared methodological work. Members consistently highlight the value of the network as a space for professional exchange and collaboration–a place to gain broader international perspectives, engage in dialogue with peers facing similar challenges, and contribute to joint initiatives that none of us could achieve alone.
