Post-suicide intervention in schools and preschools

A suicide of a friend, relative or staff at school or preschool is a traumatic event for a child and may have detrimental effects on mental health and school performance. Schools and preschools have an important role to play and school-based interventions may be relevant in supporting children and adolescents that have experienced suicide-related trauma.
