Social and psychological treatment in compulsory treatment of girls

Population:

Girls, aged 11–25 years, in compulsory treatment (social care, psychiatric care, forensic psychiatric care, or prison)

Intervention:

Social and psychological treatment (including interventions to reduce substance abuse and addiction, criminality, externalized behaviour problems, self harm and other mental health problems, both during and after the intervention)

Comparison:

Another treatment than the active intervention

Outcomes:

Positive and negative effects of the interventions regarding:
• drug abuse and addiction
• criminality
• antisocial behaviour/serious behaviour problems/norm breaking behaviour
• aggression
• self harm, suicide attempt, suicide
• mental health (depression, anxiety, low mood, eating disorder, PTSD)
• coping with neuropsychiatric disorders, symptoms
• security
• quality of life

• physical health, including sexually transmitted diseases

• cooperation between the institution and, e.g., social services, child and adolescent psychiatry and school
