Interventions for Young People Not in Employment, Education or Training (NEET)

Background

SBU will conduct a review of interventions for young people not in employment, education or training (NEET). The review will synthesize quantitative and qualitative research on interventions aimed at promoting mental health, participation, and social inclusion, as well as supporting transitions to education or employment.

Aim

SBU will conduct a knowledge review examining the effects of interventions for young people not in employment, education or training (NEET) on mental health, participation, and education- and employment-related outcomes. The review also aims to explore how young people and their relatives, or significant others, experience these interventions, and to identify factors that facilitate or hinder participation, implementation, and positive change processes.

In addition, the review will identify recurring characteristics of intervention content, delivery, and organizational conditions that are associated with positive outcomes. By synthesizing evidence from both quantitative and qualitative studies, the review seeks to enhance understanding of the interventions that have been evaluated, the outcomes that have been reported, and the factors that may be important for successful implementation and positive outcomes.
