Evidence gaps in mental health

Inventory and analysis of research needs

Background

Evidence gaps indicate where primary studies or research overviews are needed regarding specific topics.

Aim

The SBU is currently doing an in-depth inventory and analysis of evidence gaps in mental health from the SBU database and the repository DUET database (the UK Database of Uncertainties about the Effects of Treatments). This analysis is conducted within the framework of a governmental commission to identify research gaps in psychiatry and mental health, and to conduct HTA reports highlighted by the inventory indicating where more systematic reviews are needed. The evidence gaps identified where more primary research is needed will be communicated to Swedish research funders.
