Drug therapy of common pain conditions in the elderly

Background

Pain is a common clinical presentation. Several of the pharmacological treatments for pain are potentially inappropriate for the elderly. There is a need to assess available evidence in terms of both effects and harm regarding pharmacological treatment of common pain conditions in the elderly.

Purpose

The aim om the Project is to scientifically assess pharmacological treatment of common, acute and chronic, pain conditions in the elderly from a medical, health economical and ethical perspective. The Project aims to assess both effects and harm of this treatment.
