The SBU secretariat, located in Stockholm, is staffed by around 40 individuals who organize, coordinate, and disseminate findings from the assessments.
SBU projects engage an active network of several hundred clinical and scientific experts in Sweden and abroad. The network includes leading experts in fields such as medicine, nursing, dentistry, health economics, ethics, and epidemiology. Through SBU projects, these experts assemble a body of scientific evidence that forms the foundation for safer, more effective health care.
Effective dissemination and implementation of SBU's findings also requires local and regional involvement. Thus, SBU has organized a network of local "ambassadors" throughout Sweden. Over 40 people are engaged in activities aimed at various target groups at the municipal and county levels. SBU ambassadors have a special interest in disseminating information about evidence based medicine. They use the findings from SBU reports to influence clinical policy and practice at the regional and local levels.
